Leveraging human-centered design usability testing, I worked with two other designers to redesign a form people complete to apply for funding, to become more usable, accessible, and human-centered.
In this project I led usability testing and aided in the redesign of a form that helps people apply for grants for everything from firetrucks to cybersecurity.
Often government forms can be long, confusing, and dense leading to reading fatigue and mistakes while filling out the forms. This could impact whether individuals are able to receive funding.
Through initial pilots of the form redesign, the amount of successful forms filled out on the first attempt increased by 35%.
